Blue Man Group

We went and saw Blue Man Group last night, if you have never seen these guys and get a chance..Go! They are great, I can’t explain the show itself but there was a little bit of everything thrown together for all ages. Huge interaction with the audience and extremely funny. Here is a clip of something they did at the show.

Sheryl Crow

Saw Sheryl Crow last night at our local arena , which seats around 5000. It was sold out and we had seats right off the left of the stage. I always have liked Sheryl Crow, but was never a huge fan, but after last night I’m a much bigger fan. She blew the roof off the place, I would have thought she would have just stood in one spot and played, but she was all over the stage singing, dancing, palying guitar. She was very entertaining. Big stadium shows are fun, but nothing beats being that close, and her being able to interact with the crowd. I would see her again in a minute, and does she ever look good too. Here are some pictures from the show.

One Lazy Bird

Went camping this weekend and a Heron landed on the dock where the kids were fishing. As the kids caught Sunfish the Heron would eat them. Talk about a lazy bird.

Homeowner Again

Our old outgrown house/time to move on?

We just moved in to our new home, and I don’t even know how we got here, it all happened so fast. It all started back in March, we were currently living in our old house, our first house, that we purchased 10 years ago just before we were married. Since then we have had two beautiful girls, a few jobs and lots of ups and downs.

Anyways, back to March, I started looking around the house and wondering what needed to be done over the usual week to week maintenance, and really noticed that it was a time for some renovations, we had just put a new roof on it and the previous summer I put up a new deck, but the “little things” seemed to be piling up. The big question which had been popping up more and more was should I dump 10-15 thousand into the place and stick around for another 5-10 years, or should we upgrade to something newer and bigger.

Just for the hell of it I took a look at what was on the market, and as usual started to get depressed at what the prices were. The problem with the current house was size, and that we were out growing it. 1050 sq feet with one bathroom and 3 women just was not going to cut it, as it was I was fighting for bathroom time and the girls are only 7 and 4, I just couldn’t imagine in another 6-7 years!, not only that but if I’m going to take another mortgage, it needed to be now if I want to retire someday. As I was looking at the market I saw one that might be affordable, newer (7yrs old), bigger (1700 sq feet), larger lot(1.5 acres), 2nd bathroom, and in the same area, which we liked.

We didn’t run right over and look at it or even set something up with the agent as we have “looked” at houses in the past, and “think” about moving. The next Sunday we were out doing errands and and thought we would do a drive by of the place, as we came up to it, it turns out there was an open house so we stopped and had a look, the funny thing is that the open house should have ended an hour earlier, but the agent got his time mixed up because of the Daylight Savings time change the night before. We liked the house a lot, but could we afford it? Would our house sell?

to be continued…
